Nimbin, reverse brick veneer.
This three bedroom, reverse brick veneer home, plus external compost toilet building, was Owner Built in Nimbin, Northern Rivers, NSW. This basically means that the internal walls are brick walls whereas the external walls are covered with weathertex cladding. Our involvement in the project was to render all internal brick walls with clay to a smooth even finish, disguising the bricks completely. Clay has been the preferred choice for rendering the walls because it has the ability to beneficially influence internal air humidity by maintaining a pleasant and constant humidity level, optimal for indoor air quality and health. Please refer to the Menu item “Clay” on this site for detailed information on the natural rendering material. The render has been applied to an approx. 20mm thickness, clay for this project was provided by us. The house measures approx. 120 square metres extending to a generous 260 square metres with the wrap around verandas.
