The rice straw and clay used for building this beautiful straw bale home were sourced from the family’s farm. The house measures 250 m2 and has 1.8 metre wide wrap around varandas to protect the strawbale walls. This strawbale family home has been built on a concrete slab. Some floor areas have been tiled in accordance to gain thermal mass.
A comfortable family home blending in well with some of the typical colours – ochre earth and silver green gums – of the Australian Bush.
